A second try at video. No fancy editing, just cutting out as much dead air as possible! I don’t have much in the way of video editing software.
This one’s a response to all the references I’ve been seeing lately that say that good stock trading is boring. I disagree! I wonder what jobs these people have had in the past that make them think this way! Every job I’ve had before now has been a much worse form of boring. The kind that you can’t escape without quitting, or underperforming. Trading is a different and better animal altogether.
About Video
Video is certainly faster than writing… also certainly not as concise. I think I will see if I can strike a balance between video and writing that puts the most important information in print, and more of the day-to-day commentary in video form. I think I can get out more content, faster, that way. Lemme know what you think.
I agree 100%. Trading is the least boring job of all – especially when you do it right.
I think I understand the point they’re trying to make when they say “good trading should be boring” – you know, don’t take too large or risk, don’t overtrade – be consistent. But being a consistent trader isn’t boring.
I like the video, man – keep it up.
Thanks, Ugly. Mine are not as entertaining as your video the other day, though. I need to possibly get a video editing package, and start playing around with it.
Great job Richard! It makes a huge difference to put a face to a blog. Very good advice too, I may need to watch it a few times.
For just talking about a subject like this, I like the video format! For a discourse on a technical subject where you’re trying to learn a principle or a technique, I think I prefer to read. My $0.02
Like the video Richard.
You have a great site, with daily usefull info.

thanks, all.
Excellent video – a great reminder of what I should and should not be doing!
Also good to see the face behind this website – I never pictured you with long hair !
Great video, Richard. I think people say “good trading is boring” they really mean that it’s become second nature to them. I agree – it’s not boring.
Hey Dave. I hope that’s what most people mean, but I do see blogs where people complain about struggling with a boring market. It means too much waiting for their tastes, I think.

Sounds like we share a similar past in the high-tech world. I embrace each day as a trader and relish the free time it offers. I made a post related to this a few weeks back: http://estocastica.blogspot.com/2006/09/tgif-not-anymore.html
Thanks for the great blog!
