Several market blogs I used to follow died in 2006, and I thought I’d give them a mention here, to put them to rest. In many cases, it was sudden infant blog death syndrome, as they were also started in 2006. In some cases, the blogs may not be technically dead, but they sure haven’t bothered to post in a while.
Maybe more died, and I’ve already forgotten them. Some that I do remember appear to be on the ropes, but if they posted as recently as mid-November I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt for now.
Shameless Self-Promotion
If you have a sickly blog, why not make this list bigger next year and kill it? You can post here instead… just ask! Blogthanasia is a compassionate choice that you can make with pride in several situations. Such as: you’re tired of maintaining or paying for it, or you don’t want to put the effort into building a readership, or you only want to make posts occasionally. It looks like I’m about to have 3 contributors, which I think is really cool.
If I Threw a Funeral and Nobody Came?
I’ve often wondered what would happen if I suddenly died (other than my cats eating my remains, and people claming that I wiped out my account because I focused on risk rather than dollars). Okay, maybe saying “often wondered” is an overstatement; I don’t sit in a dark corner and dwell on it, or anything. But, there’s really no good mechanism to post a farewell post so people know what’s up. I guess maybe I could tell a friend how to write a post here, but that’s kind of morbid. Now that I have contributors posting so much great content, it might be a long time before anyone even notices I’m not posting! Oh well, I guess you’ll have to be left in suspense.

| Tale of the Tape | (or tail of the tape, if you prefer) just announced at least a hiatus from blogging, and at most a complete cessation. As it turns out, the blog owner may start making occasional posts here, which is a fantastic idea that everyone should try. :-) |
| Reminiscence of a Day Trader | This one posted some in September, and then one post in November which ended with the prophetic “Keep your eyes out for more to come…. soon!!!” I think if you look at those exclamation points with a magnifying glass, you’ll see they actually say “or” “maybe” “not” on them. In all fairness, everyone’s concept of soon is different. I will give them a little more time before I take them off my newsreader, since they linked to me. |

you’re the newest… the 3 I was referring to were you, Zoomie, and ExEngineer (and Phileo has sent in a couple prosperity game articles, but maintains his own excellent blog).
Too often there are comments that obviously assume I write all the articles. I think I’m going to change the PHP code to highlight the author of the post when it’s not me. Like a bold statement (well, a statement in a boldface font, anyway) above or below saying: “An article by contributing author Tapeworm” or something.

Wouldn’t it be funny if your hired henchmen started to bring you more traffic than the articles you wrote - LOL !

Seriously, I think a lot of blogs never get read except by hard-core readers like myself. They don’t want to put the effort into promoting themselves via carnivals or other means. Or, they don’t want to post regularly, or about topics that a wide audience would care about. That’s a shame, since their writing would have value if only people could find it. So, I do think a better alternative is to post here, where there are already readers, and where I’ll do the work to post multiple times daily, etc…

I think the trading hub could use a woman’s touch… Maybe I could do a weekly segment that gave snippets from female stock bloggers (with catchy titles like “A Taste of Victoria’s Box” or something), but it would be even better if someone like TradingGoddess wanted to post here directly.
Any women wanna join up? We’ve been described as the wave of the future, and some pundits predict we will be bigger than realmoney one day. I’ve seen detractors claim that the bar has been set fairly low, but just ignore those idiots.

There needs to be a wordpress plugin that automatically sprinkles ass pictures amongst the posts, for users that want it. We could call it the tape-ifier.

You guys forgot the death of WallstreetFighter. It used to be a financial blog but all the post got replaced with useless junk. Of course the boobies and stupid stuff is perfect for most people that use the internet
