The box play, squeeze play, and thoughts on turning your trading around.

Btw, I’m curious if Richard uses any of John Carter’s other setups.

I think the box play is the star of that book, for my trading tastes, anyway. I love the idea of the squeeze play, but I never had much luck with it, on stocks. In fact, it failed so often that I thought it might be best to take the other side of the squeeze play signals. To be fair, Carter says he prefers to use them on forex, where trends supposedly last longer.

I know TraderMike used to take the gap fade.. don’t know if he still does that. I am set up to get alerts for the $TICK fade, but haven’t had the balls to take one of those trades yet. Am still watching it.

I don’t think the HOLP/LOHP or whatever it’s called is a very good idea, at least for stocks, so I’ve never tried trading it.

I can’t remember what other setups were in the book off the top of my head. I thought most of them sounded good… they would maybe need adjustment or enhancement to work well in practice. Like, I only take box plays in the direction that my other indicators are pointing… this increases the win rate dramatically.

boogster takes the $tick fade quite often with less than spectacular results…i’m not sure if its him, or the system…i think dr. brett uses that one as well (not sure about that though)

i was wondering if i should by the book…i think i’ll save my money, and watch more closely for the box plays

The book has lots of examples, and there is some good information in there…. but… there is plenty of free information on the web about the setups.
