Everybody seemed to love the live trade video from Friday, so I made another one today. Did I make money? You’ll have to just watch….
I can tell you I ended the day up 9.5 pts, and I even took about an hour and a half off to go load up on fast food. Yes, it was a pretty good day. Hope your day was also good.

It would be great if you could write a futures intro if you have time. Like how many ticks in a point, how many $ in a point, how many contracts do most traders trade, what is diff between trading ES YM etc.
thanks.

9.5? Holy smokes. I was pretty proud of my four point day. I’m such a n00b.

Richard,
Nice trade, great video.
It’s hard to want to melt this site when you post such happy videos. Perhaps I’ll just try and melt MWFs’ posts.

Richard -
very nice day and trade; thanks for sharing it here.
and your fast food cave-in reminds me of something from comedian Jim Gaffigan:
[In Church] “Im usually daydreaming. Ive got this intraspective look on my face and really I’m thinking ‘Did I go to Wendy’s twice yesterday?’”
-Jim Gaffigan
good times :-D

Michael: it’s not a race. It sounds like you are doing great. Though I’m happy with my 9.5 pts, the market offered me a LOT more and I was not yet skilled enough to take it. Or at least, not aggressive enough to take it. There’s always room to improve.
Thanks Glen and MWF and Dino and Ugly and Derek.
futuresnewbiew, I’ll think about it. May not be soon, though.

Congratulations. Thanks for the great video.
Curious. Richard, did you stop trading equities to increase your income or for the challenge or both? I looked back at the blog, but must have missed your transition comments.

Richard, have you seen the movie SUPERSIZE ME??
BTW, Nice trade signals.

K, I am having fun with futures right now, and I thought I would master them faster without splitting my attention. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever go back, though, due to the scalability and overall smoothness of index trading. But, I try to generally just go with whatever I feel. If I woke up tomorrow hankering to short me some home builders, I’d fire up my equities account and have my fun.
HPT, I’m generally pretty healthy, except I really should exercise more. I usually eat a mostly raw diet, but as we saw today, I have occasional complete relapses.

that was great. nice entry, great management.
I ended up +4.25 (sans commision) after being up 9 pts in the first hour and back to -1.75. Traded 18 times in 2 hours. Needless to say I overtraded and flailed around. Still working on figuring out the best trading style for me so I don’t have any hard and fast rules in place yet. Which is the reason why I went back to demo a few weeks ago.
