I’m checking out Ensign Software’s charting platform, as we are interested in porting the eotpro.com indicators to it. So far, I’m having issues getting a real-time data feed for futures hooked up to it, but hopefully that will be resolved soon. Just looking around, I have to say it looks oddly familiar… I must have seen it featured on stock blogs in the past or something.
I was pretty impressed with the first indicator I tried to throw on the ES daily data… their auto trend indicator:
Turns out, we’re currently in a downtrend. Anyway, I don’t know if it’s updating those lines in real-time or not, but if so, it looks sweeter than a lot of autotrend indicators out there. So, that bodes well. I’m getting used to the interface, and can at least take a shot at coding an indicator or two on it, and see if I think it’s a viable platform for us. We’ll see… anyone out there using ensign?

Hi Richard,
I used Ensign and left only for indicator sets I use currently, but it is better than any famous TS, Esignal and others. Backtesting is only for programmers, difficult with ESPL that is bad, but on the other side the charts are easy to handle and form visually in more ways than in TS, MC, lots of funciton of adjusting indicators such as indicator on indicator, free historical data through DTN for the US futures and it is cheap … great program.

And Howard - owner of Ensign - is helpful and professional. Not like TS customer service for example.

I’ve been using it for a few months, and like it a lot. Free futures data is available in you’re a Transact or Infinity Futures customer. It seems to be much more popular with Transact customers than Multicharts.

Thanks, guys. I’m looking forward to getting into it further. I’m just so busy lately!

Though I’m currently using TS for everything - I like the simplicity of one stop shopping for everything from data to charts to broker. (I also trade TS because it has integrated Auto-Trading, which is the direction I’m going).
But, I also spent some time using Ensign Software. In my opinion they have the best charting package for future trading available. As the above bloggers have mentioned - it’s charting flexibility and robustness is in a league of it’s own. And you don’t need any programming knowledge to to customize how indicators appear on your screen - all options are menu driven. I wrote a little more on this subject in the MTM forums (see the platform rollout section).
Hope this helps, Rich F
