Rather than give a bare list of blogs I read, I’m going to say a few words about each. Maybe that will help you decide which ones are worth clicking on, and which ones you’d rather pass by. I read several other blogs, but I only want to present my favorites here. I’ll endeavor to keep the list up to date as my tastes change.
I’m not going to play favorites… I like all the blogs I list here. So, they will be listed in alphabetical order.
| Blog | Comments |
|---|---|
| Bill Rempel, a.k.a. NO DooDahs! | Consistent interesting articles on many aspects of trading here. Here’s somebody who obviously does some clear thinking, and then produces something insightful for all of us to read. |
| Dinosaur Trader | A lot of people like the “virtual office” on this site. I don’t really care about that aspect, but I go to the site every day to see how Dinosaur did, and see the miscellaneous fun posts and videos. This site has a lot of personality. |
| End of Trend Trading Blog | Lots of video here. Three futures traders post here, using a system of indicators that they would like you to lease from them. Even if you have no intention of subscribing for a set of proprietary indicators, these posts and videos are entertaining and informative. They post consistently, including both good and bad days. I like that kind of honesty. |
| HighChartPatterns Blog | This is the blog maintained by the HighChartPatterns stock-picking newsletter, but their blog can be enjoyed by subscribers and non-subscribers alike. You get analysis of the trades they’ve taken, and the system that they trade. I think it’s good information, and the way this blog has been appearing in everyone’s blogrolls, other traders must agree with me. |
| Impatient Trader | Blog founded by Stewie (a frequent wallstreak participant), featuring lots of charts and analysis. |
| InVivoAnalytics.com (Teresa Lo) | I’m trying to think of a short summary… I think of it as a trading blog for smart people. How’s that? :-) Its articles cover aspects of trading that most other blogs gloss over. They are a mix of trading system ideas, “ivory tower” entries, and information about her PowerTools products. Also check out the audio interview she did with traderinterviews.com. |
| OONR7 | Trades a variant on the Trader-X style. Uses intraday fibs and often uses faster charts than X, though. I like this variant enough to try trading it… it fits my personality better than the original. Besides highlighting trades of interest, the blog features posts about the trading style, and puzzles featuring setups where readers guess on the right trade to make. |
| StockTickr Blog | Much more than just a blog about StockTickr, the main draw here are interviews with traders of various amounts of fame. Here you can read interviews with Van Tharp, and Alexander Elder, and Trader-X, and Ugly, and on and on. Great stuff. |
| Timothy Sykes Blog | Trader attempting to turn $12k into millions a SECOND time. See my review of his book. |
| Trader Eyal | This was the blog that got me interested in StockTickr and Trade-Ideas. Not a lot of detail on each trade, but ongoing description of daily trades taken and the results from them. There are posts with insight into his tools and methods, and general trading mindset as well. |
| The Trading Fraternity | Not Safe for Work. MWF’s blog. |
| Trader Gav | A trader focused on e-mini and FX trading, Trader Gav posts daily charts of his trades, and comments frequently on both his successful trades and his losing trades. Posts weekly reviews of his performance. |
| Trader Mike | Nice daily market index summaries and forecasts. Not a lot of day-to-day trade analysis, but there are lots of good posts about his trading style and daily routine, etc. See “Popular Posts” box on the left sidebar. |
| Trading Goddess | Not all the pictures on this site may be safe for work! Different than the other bloggers I read, because she trades on longer timeframes. Her blog points out interesting companies and charts. It’s also just generally friendly and has lots of personality. A lot of blogs (including mine) are often missing that. |
| uglychart.com | An equities daytrader that recently switched to position trading. This is the person behind wallstreak, as well. Has an unhealthy obsession with abusing convenience store return policies, and samurais. :-) |
| Wall Street Warrior | Trader Jaime’s blog, many days featuring a “trade of the day” that is so beautiful it will bring a tear to your eye, while at the same time making you incredibly jealous. Sometimes you get a post about his ideas for the next trading session, either the night before or in the pre-market time frame. Occasional how-to articles as well. |
