Don’t make me put you under pimp arrest. You are subject to get broke if you don’t click this link. This is a clip from my all time favorite documentary - American Pimp.

I’m stealing his name, because of my new Pimp Status in the futures arena.

I guess DT, Richard, and Ugly are right. Not only are the bots taking over trading, but they will soon dominate areas you haven’t dreamed of (if your into that sort of thing).

I’ve just signed up for the model that can trade too! I think I’ll sit at home while my bot trades for me, cooks for me, and well — you know.

Since we can now stop debating over whether or not bots will take over trading, we can move to more serious discussions. Is sex with my robot cheating? Will I risk serious injury in the event of a power surge? Will I ever leave home again?

I still can’t figure out why MtM scored so low on the blog reading level. It must be Richard’s videos.

It doesn’t look like the VO is that interested in participating without their fearless leader. We welcome your quick return DT.

It died almost as quick as the WallStreak futures room when Phileo took a brief hiatus.

What is it with DT and RuPaul for President? DT hasn’t been the same since that incident with Vodka and lighting his penis on fire.

Who in their right mind would continue using a stove when they can make the same thing in three minutes with the microwave? That was my thinking as a young man when microwaves first came out. I was wrong about that.

Where else have I been on the wrong side of history? (a) pony express, (b) beta max, (c) 8 track players, and (d) sony walkman.

Maybe Richard and Ugly are right?

Btw, in case you haven’t heard, wine comes in a box now. I doubt any vineyard that continues to put their product in a bottle will be in business in another five years.

I started this week with a plan, and with the exception of Monday have failed miserably. I haven’t lost much money, but my trigger finger has been too quick. Its the same old story.

Its time to forget about trading, and enjoy myself. I invited DT, but he’s too dominant for this sort of thing.

The blogorazzi snapped this photo of me last year. As you can see, 99% of the world is more dominant than me.

The last time I was arrested, it was a pain going through all of my known aliases — tapeworm, bass ackward trader, shorty shitstain.

Actually, I chose tapeworm because of my desire to read the tape. That dream never materialized, so I changed it to bass ackwards trader. If you follow this link, you can see where I was actually headed with that one. It seemed like a good idea at the time. There are a few charts over there. Eventually, I will post the links of all the hairbrain trading ideas I’ve had.

I’m in love with the MAMA (MESA Adaptive Moving Average) for the moment. Oil has had some nice trends, and its kept me on the right side for the most part. It may be the flavor of the month. We will see. So now you can add another alias to the list — MAMA’s boy. In fact I need to let the local sheriff know, so they can update my records.

1) you don’t have to be good at it to enjoy it

2) the more control you have, the better you get

3) some of the ugly ones turn out to be the best

4) believe it or not, experience doesn’t necessarily mean you’re any good at it

5) can’t learn by reading — you need skin in the game to try out your technique

6) take advantage of the desperation at closing time — that is actually a tip for women — the closer it is to closing time, a woman can get a guy that normally would be out of her league — take advantage of desperate traders who have to get out of a losing position with the clock ticking

7) if you’re carrying baggage from the last trade, take some time to clear your head before you get back in the game

8) take advantage of the “liquidity” if you will…if it changes hands a lot, you can get in and out easier, but you may not want to marry the trade — maybe you will - we all have a past

9) there are no shortage of either one…don’t let the current one weigh too heavily on your emotions

10) recognize the look — if you get the look, shut up and close the deal — however, unless you’re Brad Pitt, you can’t just wait on the look…the same goes for trading…one or two setups will be money, but they may not come around often enough to support you…don’t pass them up when they come along…its a sure thing

11) its harder to perform with people watching

12) if it doesn’t smell right, stay away

This week I have been corresponding with the DT trying to get into the VO. Initially, I accepted the fact that I wouldn’t be allowed to participate. At the time I didn’t think too much about it.

However, after reading this comment he made on my previous post, I felt there was more to it. They already had a “token” futures trader. I feel strongly that the constitution of this great U.S. has promised futures traders life, liberty, and the pursuit of losing money at an alarming rate.

With that in mind, I had a not so pleasant conversation with the DT after dinner. He said that he really likes futures traders. In fact some of his “best” friends are futures traders. As he was proclaiming how liberal minded he was, he told me that he liked commodity traders, but he wouldn’t want his daughter to date one. I feel like we are back in the 90’s.

Some people maintain that rap music has done more to bring the races together than anything else in the last 100 years. Maybe they can do something to bring stock and futures traders together. After all we’re in a new millenium.

I have my own ways of handling drawdowns.  Normally, I decrease my size or even go back to paper trading.  And there is always this way — behavior modification at its finest!

Trader Gav often quotes great traders - both past and present.  Here are a few quotes you will never see there, but have helped me achieve mediocrity in my trading and life in general.

  • You can’t fail if you don’t try!
  • No crap, no crop!
  • Its a faith walk, not a cake walk.

The first quote really shouldn’t require an explanation.  Many people live their lives paralyzed by fear.  Its that fear that won’t allow them to take risks.  If you never try, you can’t fail.  The very fact that you are reading this blog, you are setting yourself up for failure.  Statistically, most of us won’t make it.  Personally, I would rather try and fail, than to wonder if I could have achieved greatness.  Btw, if you read the posts by the other MTM contributors, you actually may stand a chance of success. :-)

No crap, no crop.  It takes plenty of fertilizer to grow a bountiful crop.  To reap a harvest in our life, we often have to put up with a ton of crap.  I edited that remark to maintain the family rating of this site.  You get the picture.

Its a faith walk, not a cake walk.  Whether your faith lies in God, yourself, or a combination of both, any journey worth pursuing takes faith.  Nobody said it would be easy — especially trading.
