Mr. Zebra

There’s no one like Tori Amos… this is a short song off Boys for Pele, and it’s rare to see a live performance with an actual brass section…

I remember when I bought this CD, at a barnes and noble bookstore, the cashier chick saw it, pointed at it, and said “YES,” like she was so excited to see it, and wanted to know how many times I’ve seen Tori in concert (the answer was “just once”). She’s got some rabid fans out there…

(lyrics are with the chords below, if you care)

MR. ZEBRA by Tori Amos (capo VI)

[Em] hello mr. [B7] zebra
[C] can I have your [D] sweater
cause it’s [G] cold cold cold
in my [B7] hole hole hole
[Em] Ratatouille [B7] Strychnine
[C] sometimes she’s a [G] friend of mine
with [Em] a gigantic whirlpool
that will [B7] blow your mind

[Em] hello mr. [B7] zebra
ran [C] into some con[D]fusion
with a [G] Mrs Croco[B7]dile dile dile
[Em] furry mussels [B7] marching on
she [C] thinks she’s Kaiser [G] Wilhelm
or [Em] a civilised syllabub
to [B7] blow your mind

figure it out [Em]
[B7] she’s a good[C]time fella [G]
she’s [Em] got a little [Em] fund to fight
for [B7] Moneypenny’s rights
figure it out [Em]
[B7] she’s a good[C]time fella [G]
too [Em] bad the burial was
prema[B7]ture she said and smiled
