A Google Tech Talk with Brad M. of Vim fame:
A talk by Neal Gafter about adding closures to java. From the abstract:
This talk describes the proposed language extension and its design rationale, and shows how it will affect existing and future APIs.
Interesting hint of bureaucracy at google at the end of this video…
A talk by Peter Seibel. From the abstract:
In his talk, Peter will discuss how our choices of programming language influences and shapes our pattern languages and the architectures we can, or are likely to, invent. He will also discuss whether it’s sufficient to merely broaden your horizons by learning different programming languages or whether you must actually use them.
Nirvana, from In Utero, 1993. There’s a music video, but I didn’t immediately spot it on youtube, and I kinda like this live performance:
A video about what it’s like to have Buddhist parents. I thought it was interesting that all of the kids were either not religious or Atheists. I guess Buddhist parents don’t pressure their kids much to follow in their footsteps. I bet, as they get older, at least some of them consider Buddhism as an option… it’s really more of a philosophy than most religions… no creator God or anything…
Nirvana, from Incesticide (1992 I think).
Early Nirvana song, unreleased… here’s an early live performance of it… sorry for the bad quality audio. The tablature below has the lyrics in it…
