Squarepusher song, from Big Loada. Another excllent video from Chris Cunningham (who also did Aphex Twin’s “Come to Daddy” video, and others by Madonna and Bjork etc.). I love the way the action is synchronized with the music.

Oddly enough, I tried to buy this disc from amazon, but they sent me the wrong disc inside the correct cd case/booklet. Obviously a problem with whoever pressed and packaged it, rather than amazon. Weird. Luckily, I liked the disc I received just fine!

I would love to have the tablature for this! Looks so fun.

I wouldn’t have been able to hum this tune, if someone asked me what SMB2 sounded like. But, I obviously played it a lot of hours whenever it was new, because I immediately recognized it when I heard this guy play it. Funny, how that stuff gets wedged into your brain after hearing it so many times!

God

The first Tori Amos song that caught my ear… I remember very clearly being on a shuttle bus at college when it played on the radio. I had no choice but to ask around until someone could tell me who it was. This is from Under the Pink.

This is the “official” music video. I think it comes across better than the live performances I could find, due to all noises used in the music:

Regina Spektor, from Begin to Hope. This appears to be an actual “official” video, rather than a live performance:

Regina Spektor, from Soviet Kitsch. Here’s a live performance with decent audio. Some cute banter before the song starts.

Regina Spektor, from the bonus tracks on the extended edition of Begin to Hope.

Here’s another version, which didn’t allow embedding in this page.

Regina Spektor, off Begin to Hope. This is a live performance, pretty good recording:

This newest disc is getting some promotion (I’ve seen her on talk shows and stuff) so hopefully she will start getting the recognition she deserves. I’ve got four of her CD’s and I love them all.

There’s no one like Tori Amos… this is a short song off Boys for Pele, and it’s rare to see a live performance with an actual brass section…

I remember when I bought this CD, at a barnes and noble bookstore, the cashier chick saw it, pointed at it, and said “YES,” like she was so excited to see it, and wanted to know how many times I’ve seen Tori in concert (the answer was “just once”). She’s got some rabid fans out there…

(lyrics are with the chords below, if you care)
