Nirvana from Nevermind. My favorite song from that disc. For some reason, this one just seems ‘deeper’ than the other songs… kinda made me perk up and notice them for more than their catchy singles. Here’s a live performance:
Nirvana, B-Side from Smells Like Teen Spirit single.
Not much of a video… just the song with a static background:
Nirvana B-Side w/Grohl singing… Here’s a live version from a Foo Fighters concert… I like the recorded version better, but whatever…
One of the best songs from the original socially-conscious grindcore band: Napalm Death. This one’s from their Utopia Banished CD, from 1992.
No way forward or back, In stalemate, we stagnate, Life cycle is an automation, Instinctively, we race to get ahead? And now our virgin minds are raped, Another insignficance to join the rat-race Self-indulgence with our grasp. We're taught but torn (from) the sanctity of life. So vulnerable, The world keeps turning - We spin out of control. Guided, or could this mean misguided, No time for questions, Preoccupied with pressing on, The world keeps turning - We overdose on overdrive. Superior species with inferior ideas, We overload our bodies and minds, Respect this earth while commiting suicide. Poison trait. We're the cause not the cure, Our methods of fulfillment will surely drag us down. Guided, or could this mean misguided, Our virgin minds are raped - The world keeps turning - We overdose on overdrive, we spin out of control. In stalemate, we stagnate.
REM, from Automatic for the People. Fun to play on an acoustic guitar. Sorry, couldn’t find a good video of it on youtube.
A question asked by the Pixies on Surfer Rosa in 1988. A lot of people might know it better as the song that plays at the end of Fight Club… Either way it’s a great song.
I’m not sure if this was an official video or not, but the song is on it, with a bunch of Fight Club footage:
Very easy and fun to play.

A song performed by Ben E. King and the Drifters, in 1959 or so, although they didn’t write it. Ben E. King is of course better known for co-writing and performing the song Stand By Me, but I like this one as well. Very simple to play.
Nirvana, from Nevermind in 1991.
This is the first song I learned to play on a guitar. Very easy to play.
REM, from Monster in 1994. They didn’t make a video for it, but here is a live performance:
REM, from New Adventures in Hi-Fi. I love this song, but it’s not my favorite disc of theirs.
